Who We Are
The Rivanna Chapter of the Virginia Master Naturalists was founded in April 2006, chartered in June 2006, and organized its first training by fall of that same year.
Twenty-two of the state's first Virginia Master Naturalists graduated from that first class - three already certified.

Formed in 2006, the Rivanna Chapter of VMN has held a total of six trainings. Since then, members have logged over 9,000 volunteer hours.
In 2009, the Rivanna chapter had:
- 76 trained Master Naturalists
- 48 active members
- 35 Certified Master Naturalists
- 1,559 Advanced training hours from 48 members
- 4,033 volunteer hours
