Application for the Spring 2011 Training Class

Directions: Download the application below. Please fill out the application completely and return to the address at the bottom of the application. Do NOT send in any money with the application.

Once accepted into the upcoming class, there is a fee of $100 to cover materials and chapter operation costs.

Scholarships are available. To apply for a scholarship, please contact the Rivanna Chapter for more information.

Applications must be postmarked by January 25 . Twenty applicants will be accepted into the spring class. Applicants will be notified by February 7 or earlier. The class begins on Wednesday, February 16, 2011.

How To Become a Rivanna Master Naturalist

The process for becoming a certified Virginia Master Naturalist typically takes 6 to 12 months. One starts by completing a 40-hour basic training course offered by your local chapter of the program. An additional 8 hours of advanced training are also required. An important part of the certification process is the required 40 hours of volunteer service.
