Next Training for the Rivanna Master Naturalists
The next basic training course for the Rivanna Chapter of the Virginia Master Naturalists will be on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-9:30 pm and some Saturday mornings from January 29 until May 27. See syllabus here.

Before applying for the class, please take a simple quiz (for your eyes only.)
Now, review the requirements for fees and class attendance and check the syllabus to make sure you can attend all the classes and field trips.

Directions: Download the application below. Please fill out the application completely and return to the address at the bottom of the application. Do NOT send in any money with the application.
Once accepted into the upcoming class, there is a fee of $100 to cover materials and chapter operation costs.
Need-based scholarships are available. To apply for a scholarship, please fill out the attached form and send in with your training course application.
The course application deadline is January 4, 2008.Twenty applicants will be accepted into the spring class. Applicants will be notified by Tuesday, January 15, 2008. The class begins on Tuesday, January 29, 2008.

How To Become a Rivanna Master Naturalist
The process for becoming a certified Virginia Master Naturalist typically takes 6 to 12 months. One starts by completing a 40-hour basic training course offered by your local chapter of the program. An additional 8 hours of advanced training are also required. An important part of the certification process is the required 40 hours of volunteer service.
