- Useful Websites for the Study of Trees
by Tony Russell, Rivanna Master Naturalist: Spring 2008
This annotated list of tree websites represents a culling from hundreds of sites. The three most important criteria for inclusion were: - usefulness for a variety of potential users, including naturalists, teachers and students at many levels, and members of the general public;
- relevance to Virginia, although many species of trees and shrubs have a fairly wide range of distribution; and
- coverage of a variety of topics, starting with identification and “branching out” to other topics like photos of trees, invasive species, riparian and urban forestry, tree health, American chestnuts, and comprehensive forestry.
