I am a semi-retired Nurse Practitioner, having worked many years at UVA. Now I teach aquatic fitness classes and volunteer as a rescuer/transporter for the Wildlife Center of Virginia. Backcountry hiking in the Shenandoah Park and sea kayaking our beautiful tidal waters are two of my most favorite activities. I am an avid gardener and I feel that a daily hike in wind, rain, snow or heat is just the very best part of entering the “retirement” phase of life.
