  • Are you wanting the certification for your job or to promote yourself in some way?
  • Are you hoping to use the certification for environmental advocacy?
  • Are you more interested in promoting personal opinions about the environment than research-based information?
  • Are you thinking that your Master Naturalist service will count towards Master Gardener service requirements?

I am very interested in taking the spring 2014 class. I would like to write articles and do research for the group. I have a love for the environment and a great desire to help retain it.

  5. Mary Lofton says:

I see that your 2013 class was offered during business hours on Wednesdays. In Spring 2014, do you anticipate there being any way to take the Basic Training if I work full time, or is the program not usually compatible with holding a full-time job?

    Thanks so much!

I am interested in learning more about the MN program and the process to apply to be in the next 40-hour training program. My answers were all “yes” to the first set and all “no” to the second. I have lived in the Charlottesville (Albemarle County) area since 1973 and keenly interested in doing my part to preserve and protect our beautiful area.

    Thank you,

    Carolyn

The 2014 basic training information is now posted at http://vmn-rivanna.org/training. The 2014 course will begin in February, and it will take place on Tuesday evenings with some Saturday field trips. Typically, the chapter alternates each year between evening and daytime courses in order to accommodate a variety of schedules.
